At Chime, we know that a big part of delivering a great banking experience is providing peace of mind. That’s why we’re focused on giving you the highest level of security, transparency, and control. No one wants to think about the security of their finances day and night (that’s our job), but it’s great to have tools to easily manage your Chime card account when needed.
Today we’re excited to announce two new security settings that give you even more control over your Chime card account.
- Block Card. Have you ever gone to pay for your morning coffee and realized you forgot to close out the tab from last night and left your card at the bar? Thanks to some emergency coffee cash and the Chime app, you can relax. When your card is missing–whether you left your wallet at a restaurant or your card slipped out of your pocket, simply go to Settings in your Chime account and turn off Chime Card Transactions to block your card temporarily. This feature prevents new purchases and ATM transactions on your Chime card account immediately. Once your card turns up, just turn Chime Card Transactions back on to unblock the card. If your card is lost or stolen or otherwise gone forever, call Chime Member Services at 844-244-6363 and we’ll send you a new one.
- Block International Transactions. If you’re not traveling outside the country and want to prevent your card from being used in other countries, you can turn International Transactions on or off at any time, also under Settings in your Chime account. This will prevent your card from being used at any merchant based outside the U.S., online or offline. Need to do a foreign transaction? Simply turn International Transactions back on.
Chime’s transaction alerts notify you the moment your card is used, so if there’s ever an unexpected transaction on your Chime card account, now you can use the transaction blocking settings in the Chime app right away from wherever you are. With these new features, you have even more control over your financial life.
